The Spirit of Pella is a non-profit organization dedicated to connecting people through collaborative community-based projects centered around interactive art, public gathering spaces, a magical holiday season and special events to preserve our heritage and support an abundant future.
We’re on a roll in 2026!
The January 10 opening celebration for Caldwell Park Ice Arena was a blast, with friends, neighbors, and a whole lot of fun on the ice! And we’re just getting started.
This year, we’re excited about fresh art, events, and more big ideas. But before we charge ahead, let’s take a quick look back at 2025. Without your generosity and support, none of it would have happened.

The Tulip Toren is a beautiful landmark in Central Park. To achieve this photo, have your subjects climb the hill just south of the sundial and snap away!
Happy Days Mural (Staphorst Folk Painting) on the Brew Coffeehouse on Franklin Street is the Spirit of Pella’s first mural! Be sure to tag us with #spiritofpella
The Marken Wall is reminiscent of the architectural style found in the province of Marken in the Netherlands. Located just in the Klokkenspel Plaza on the Work of Our Hands.
The Map of the Netherlands inside Dutchfix on Franklin Street was painted by local artist, Joe Hox!
The Drawbridge over the Canal in the Molengracht District.
Central College is home to many gorgeous photo spots but the red phone booth is a showstopper!
Try on a pair of giant “Dutch Shoes” for size. Traditional Dutch wooden shoes, or klompen, can be tried on in front of the Information Windmill at Central Park and the Vermeer Windmill at Pella Historical Village.
The Big Pink Chair! Check out downtown store, Wild Bramble, for the perfect photo opp after making a unique soda creation or a bag full of candy for the kiddos.
